Candle Care & Burning Guide

Maximize scent throw, achieve an immaculate clean burn, and preserve the sculptural beauty of your hand-poured creations.

Following these foundational practices ensures a soot-free burn, rich scent diffusion, and maximum burn life.

01
The First Light

The Memory Burn

On your first burn, allow the melted wax pool to reach the complete outer edges of the vessel (approx. 2–3 hours). Natural soy wax has a 'memory'—this prevents tunneling and ensures a flat, even melt surface for all future lightings.

02
Before Every Burn

Trim Wick to 1/4 Inch

Always trim your cotton or wooden wick to 1/4" (6mm) prior to each burn. Trimming prevents mushrooming wicks, removes charred buildup, eliminates black soot, and keeps the flame burning calmly at the ideal temperature.

03
Optimal Window

Burn 3–4 Hours Max

Never burn a candle for more than 4 continuous hours. Extended burning causes the vessel and wax to overheat, which degrades precious fine fragrance oils and accelerates burn consumption. Allow the wax to fully reset before relighting.

04
Gentle Snuffing

Extinguish with Grace

Use a candle snuffer or gently dip the wick tip into the liquid wax and straighten immediately with a wick dipper. Avoid blowing directly into the molten pool to eliminate smoke, preserve fragrance atmosphere, and keep the wick centered.

Pillar of Artistry

Caring for Sculptural & Shaped Décor Candles

Our sculptural candles are individually cast artisan objects crafted to be just as captivating displayed unlit as an ornament as they are when glowing.

Always Use a Catch Tray: Because sculptural pieces lack containment jars, always place them on a heat-safe ceramic dish, stone tray, or glass plate to gracefully catch natural wax cascades.
Avoid Drafts & Direct Sunlight: Keep sculptural wax away from drafty windows, air vents, or direct sunlight to prevent uneven melting, rapid burns, or premature shape softening.
Decorative Display Longevity: When enjoyed purely as tabletop sculpture, dust gently with a soft dry microfiber cloth to keep intricate contours pristine.

Safe Living & Burning Checklist

Please observe these essential safety guidelines every time you illuminate a flame in your living space.

Never Leave Unattended: Always extinguish your candle when leaving the room or before going to sleep.
Keep Away from Flammables: Keep clear of curtains, books, paper, clothing, and any combustible surfaces.
Protect Children & Pets: Place candles high on stable, flat, heat-resistant surfaces out of reach of pets and children.
Stop at 1/2 Inch Wax: Discontinue burning when approximately 1/2" (12mm) of wax remains to prevent vessel overheating.
